Got questions? Well, we have answers…

How much does it cost?
We are currently holding taster classes which are all free and don’t require membership. From October 15th you must buy membership to attend our classes. Membership costs £30 for the academic year but you don’t need to pay any extra for classes, they are all free for members! – buy membership here.

Where are the classes?
Our classes are held in various rooms around UCL campus. The location for each class will be specified on the booking page.

Do I have to book to attend a class?
YES! Our classes are extremely popular and spaces are limited so you must book each class in advance and bring the booking confirmation email with you.

How do I book?
Check out the BOOK CLASSES page, choose your class, fill in your details, and register. You should get a confirmation email (check your junk mail). Booking for the following weeks classes open at 8pm every Sunday.

Also check the facebook page during the week. If people can no longer attend a class they have booked they will be advertised there. The first person to comment will take the place.

How do I cancel a booking?
Please only book classes that you can definitely attend and make sure you do attend classes you have booked. If you accidentally book twice or book the wrong class just message us on facebook or drop us an email to let us know which class you want to cancel. We will cancel the booking so someone else can book that place.

If during the week, you need to cancel a booking because you can no longer attend the class, post it on the facebook group. The first person to comment will take your place.

What should I wear?
You can wear anything you like but make sure it is comfortable and doesn’t restrict movement. We recommend t-shirts and leggings, jogging bottoms or shorts.

Should I bring a yoga mat?
Try to bring your own yoga mat to our classes but don’t worry if you don’t have one, we will usually have a few spares that you can borrow (we don’t have that many so bring your own if you have one). You can also buy one online, there are some on Amazon for under £10. Alternatively, bring a towel or a scarf instead – they do the job and are much easier to carry around uni!

I’ve never done yoga before, will I be able to keep up?
Worry not, we have classes for all abilities and our wonderful teachers are happy to tailor the classes to everybody’s levels. We do have some advanced level classes too that may be more challenging but the difficulty level will always be clearly stated on the booking page. The great thing about yoga is it can be as intense or gentle as your body wants.

We hold several retreats over the year which are always a lot of fun and a chance to bond with fellow yogis doing what we do best. We organise a few in the UK during term time (usually around reading weeks) and one abroad during the summer holidays. We will advertise these closer to the time.

Where can I find more information?
Check out our facebook page for regular updates, Instagram for photos of our classes and events or email us at uclu.yms@gmail.com. And of course, feel free to speak to the YMS committee at our classes.
